Clinton and I love spending a beautiful summer day out on our boat. It’s so relaxing to be out on the water, to soak up the sun and to breathe in the fresh air. Clinton enjoys fishing and while I love fishing for awhile too, I can get a little antsy. So, I pack a beach bag or a backpack of some fun, girly things to bring along on the boat. I thought it would be fun to show you a sneak peek into what’s in my bag!
There’s a couple different bags I rotate between to bring on the boat - to be honest it just depends on what I feel like packing and what will fit in the bag. My two main favorites are this beautiful, light, rose gold backpack or this cute straw beach bag.

We also bring along a mini cooler. We just got this one from Hydroflask. I LOVE it! It’s not overly large and is just great for two people. Do you have a favorite snack you like to bring with you when you go to the beach? I love fruit snacks and those can definitely be found in our cooler or my beach bag. If we are out fishing early in the morning we will pack granola bars, blueberry or cinnamon muffins, our favorite wellness juice and maybe some fruit if I have any prepped and ready to go.
What are some of your favorite snacks you enjoy bringing to the beach or out on the boat? I am always looking for suggestions!
Other fun things you will find in my bag is a beach towel, reef-friendly sunscreen, sunglasses, my kindle (I have to have allll of my books with me), water bottle and probably more snacks! Oh, and don't forget a hat! It's nice for keeping your hair smooth and the little flyaways out of your eyes. If I go on the boat without a hat my hair is usually quite the snarly mess afterwards!
What other fun things do you like to bring with you to the beach, pool or out on the boat?

About a week ago Clinton and I were in Northern Minnesota for a fun and relaxing getaway. Being in Northern Minnesota feels like I am home again. Walker, MN has the same feel and vibes I get from when I used to live in Duluth. I keep praying God will lead us back to Northern Minnesota, He hasn’t answered that prayer yet - but maybe someday! I’ll just keep being patient. I have to remember to bloom where he has planted me for now.
When I was 11 or 12 years old my family and I started traveling to Hiawatha Beach Resort in Walker, MN. My dad grew up vacationing at this same resort when he was a young child and wanted us to experience the fun at this beautiful place too. There’s a part of me that feels like I am visiting family when I return each July to Hiawatha because I have known that family that owns the resort for so long. It’s exciting when someone knows you by name and they haven’t forgotten you and now they know my husband too!

We have kept traveling to Hiawatha over the Fourth of July, we just can’t give it up! It’s a great week to get away and celebrate America and be with family. It’s also a great week to be out on the lake sun tanning, tubing behind the boat, or if you are like my husband Clinton - waking up WAY too early to go fishing. Once again, the big fish got away from him. He did manage to catch some Northerns and Sunnies though.

When you visit Hiawatha Beach you are treated like family. They greet you with a warm hello, ask about your life, work, my dogs, and wish you well as you leave. It’s always so heartwarming to hear, “See you next year!” The lodge and the cabins are absolutely beautiful and clean, the beach is huge and lined with white lounge chairs and there is a large green area off to the side of the lodge area to play soccer, volleyball or just let your kids run wild. They also have boat rentals if you enjoy fishing or other water sports or just touring around Leech Lake.

The city of Walker is also a fun place to tour. Their main street through the town has so many quaint shops, cafe’s, bars, fancy restaurants, and even an ice cream parlor. If you are looking for an upscale dining location I highly recommend The 502 at Chase on the Lake - their outdoor seating area is beautiful. If you like to dine at a casual bar and grill then the Lucky Moose is the place for you. Coffee lover? No problem! Check out the Walker Bay Coffee Co. They also serve amazing breakfast sandwiches and cinnamon rolls.

Are you a shopping girl like me? You have to visit Christmas Point and Lundagrens. Both amazing boutiques with price tags for all budgets. Christmas Point is wonderful for finding gifts for family and friends for birthdays or Christmas.
I’m already looking forward to when I can visit Hiawatha Beach again! I know summer of 2020 has been a bit different for many, but are you able to take a getaway? Where is your favorite place to vacation in the summer?
Traveling is one of my favorite things to plan, anticipate and experience. It’s so good for the soul to visit new places and experience new things. I love helping others dream about their travel plans and help with travel tips. I’ve got a few good tips that are super helpful that you can find here.

Hi people! Zoey and Lily the Springers here. We sneaked onto our mom’s laptop because we had to share with you our most favorite doggie products. Your furbabies will just love you forever if you spoil them with these fun things. And you love your furry kids too, right??? Okay we better hurry before mom comes in!
1. ChuckIt! Ball Launcher: This is the best toy ever made! Don’t tell mom but she can’t throw very far. My auntie Jackie gave this to me (Lily) for Christmas and now the ball goes so far and I have to run really, really fast to get it. It’s the best! It’s the perfect summer toy to bring to the dog park.
2. The big red thing: I don’t know what it is, but somehow peanut butter ends up inside of it and mom gives us each one. We just go crazy trying to get the peanut butter out - it’s our favorite and we just can’t seem to lick it up fast enough. Does your doggie have one too? We also like it with pumpkin!
3. Bath time isn’t our favorite but we sure love when mom uses our Animal Scents Shampoo. It smells so good and leaves our skin and fur so soft. It’s great for horses and cats too. We don’t like cats though. We bark at cats!
4. At Christmas time Dad bought us the best Christmas gift ever! It is a giant stuffed pickle. Mom only let him buy one thinking we wouldn’t like it. We both fight over it all the time. If your pup is smaller you can find this in a smaller size too. We’ve tried to bring it to bed but it takes up too much room!
5. We love to snuggle in the evenings while mom and dad watch a movie. This is our favorite blanket. It is so soft and cozy. Mom is doing this thing where she is making each room feel more Hygge....whatever that means. She does a good job making us feel comfy!

Mom’s coming! Don’t forget to spoil your fur babies. We’ll write again soon!
