Have you ever felt like you’re doing all the right things in business… but your heart still feels off?
That was me at the end of 2024. Honestly? I felt like I crawled to the finish line. I started the new year feeling worn out and soul tired. And when I looked ahead to my calendar, I realized I’d be gone for three weeks in March. That’s when I decided - this would be the perfect month to take a much-needed social media break.
I didn’t want to keep showing up just because I “should.”
I didn’t want to post out of pressure or perform out of fear.
I needed time away with my family. Time alone with the Lord.
It was time to break some of the bad habits I had developed, like constantly checking social media and carrying my phone with me everywhere. At first, it was a little uncomfortable. My hands itched for the scroll. My mind raced through all the content I should be posting. But after a few days of intentional stillness, something beautiful happened…
I felt free.

Your Worth Isn’t Tied to Your Content...
Your worth isn’t tied to your productivity, how much you check off your to-do list, or how visible you are online.
Your worth isn’t tied to your productivity, how much you check off your to-do list, or how visible you are online.
As someone who creates content for a living, I’ve felt the pressure more times than I can count—the pressure to stay consistent, to show up with energy, to keep the algorithm happy, and to make sure everything keeps growing… even when I’m feeling low or unclear.
But in that quiet month away from social media, the Lord reminded me of something so simple and so freeing: He never asked me to strive. He invited me to stay close.
“Peace I leave with you…”
One verse that gently washed over me during this time was John 14:27:
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
The world teaches hustle.
The algorithm expects constant output.
But the Lord? He offers peace. Presence. Rest.
The algorithm expects constant output.
But the Lord? He offers peace. Presence. Rest.
In this past season, I intentionally made space for stillness.
No pressure to perform.
No to-do list in hand.
Just me, the Lord, and a quiet heart ready to listen.
No to-do list in hand.
Just me, the Lord, and a quiet heart ready to listen.
And in that stillness, I remembered who I am:
- I’m loved even when I’m not producing.
- I’m valuable even when I’m not visible.
- I’m His, even when I’m offline.
I remembered that the Kingdom isn’t built by hustle - it’s built by obedience, faithfulness, and rest.

Staying Close to God in Business
So what does “staying close” to God in your business actually look like?
It’s not about checking off a spiritual to-do list. It’s about walking in step with Him. Here are a few rhythms that have helped me re-center:
Simple Ways to Stay Close to God in Your Business:
- Begin your workday in prayer
- Ask God what your next task should be (instead of diving straight into strategy)
- Take a walk and pray over your business
- Practice Sabbath—even from social media
- Read scripture before emails
- Listen to Worship music while you create
- Invite the Holy Spirit into every caption, course, and coaching call
- Move your body as an act of worship - our bodies are temples, and exercise can be both stress-relief and spiritual alignment

When It’s Time to Step Away
If you’ve been waking up dreading content creation, feeling frazzled trying to keep up with what everyone else is doing, or sensing that the joy in your work has started to fade - it’s not laziness. It might just be the Lord gently inviting you to pause.
You don’t have to keep running just because everyone else is.
You don’t have to chase visibility when God is calling you into intimacy.
You don’t have to prove anything to anyone.
You simply get to be His.

You don’t have to chase visibility when God is calling you into intimacy.
You don’t have to prove anything to anyone.
You simply get to be His.

This is Your Permission Slip
If you’ve been caught in the swirl of doing… this is your gentle reminder to breathe.
Step away.
Recenter.
Let Him speak.
Let Him lead.
Let Him love you right where you are - not for what you do, but simply because you’re His daughter.

Let Him lead.
Let Him love you right where you are - not for what you do, but simply because you’re His daughter.
The truth is, there is no content you could create… no algorithm you could beat… no strategy you could master… that’s more important than staying close to the One who called you.
You’re not behind.
You’re not forgotten.
You’re just being held.
You’re not forgotten.
You’re just being held.
And maybe - just maybe - this is the season where less hustle leads to more holy peace.
