Encouragement for the Christian Woman Who Feels Tired or Behind in Her Business
Have you ever looked around and felt like everyone else is moving forward while you’re stuck in slow motion? Like, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t seem to catch up? If you’ve ever whispered, “I should be further along by now,” this blog post is for you!

We live in a world that applauds speed, achievement, and constant productivity. But if we’re honest, most of us aren’t tired because we’re doing too little. We’re tired because we’re carrying far too much.

Somewhere along the way, we began to believe the lie that our worth is tied to our progress, our timelines, or the pace of the women around us. We started measuring ourselves against milestones we didn’t even prayerfully choose. We compare our chapter three to someone else’s chapter thirty and mentally decide we’re behind.

It shows up in subtle ways. We scroll and see someone launching, growing, announcing, and achieving. We watch friends move into new seasons while we’re still waiting on clarity. We hear stories of fast success, and we start questioning why our own journey feels slower or less visible. Without even meaning to, we begin attaching our value and even our identity to outcomes. If things are moving, we feel secure and confident. If they’re slow, we feel unsure, doubtful, and extremely discouraged.

Worth was never meant to be measured by momentum. God never said, “You are valuable when you achieve.” He never tied identity to income, influence, productivity, or speed. Our culture might celebrate acceleration, but the Kingdom values faithfulness. And faithfulness often looks quiet, steady, and unseen. The danger isn’t just comparison. It’s the quiet agreement we make with it - it’s the moment we believe that being slower means being less. It’s when we assume that waiting equals weakness or that obscurity equals failure. That’s where the lie takes root, and that’s where it begins to shape how we see ourselves.

The truth is, your worth was settled long before your timeline unfolded. You were not assigned value based on how quickly you grow, how much you accomplish, or how visibly you succeed. You are already fully known, fully seen, and fully loved right where you are.

God is not rushing you. He’s leading you, and His pace is always peaceful. I’ve had seasons where I felt incredibly behind, especially in business. When things weren’t growing as quickly as I thought they should, I found myself slipping into comparison with other women who seemed to have it all figured out. It left me feeling discouraged, defeated, and honestly just tired. I even reached a point where I lost the desire to show up at all. I love encouraging others, but in that season, I was the one who needed encouragement.

I knew deep down I had started tying my worth and identity to outcomes, and I also knew that I needed to change. I felt the Lord gently pulling me closer to Him and away from the noise. That’s where journaling became more than just a habit; it became a place of release. In the quiet of the morning, I would write honestly, getting all the mental clutter, comparison, and pressure out of my head and onto paper. There’s something powerful about seeing your thoughts laid out and surrendering them to Him. It didn’t mean I suddenly had clarity on everything, but it did bring peace. And sometimes, peace is what we need most in a season that feels uncertain.

That’s a big part of why I care so much about creating journaling resources. I know what it feels like to want clarity so badly and not receive it right away, and to let God meet you with peace in the middle of that uncertainty. Inside my Journaling Store, you’ll find simple, faith-rooted prompts and guidebooks to help you process what you’re carrying and reconnect with God in a personal way.

Let's walk through some encouragement together:

1. The Lie: “I Should Be Further Along By Now.”
Comparison is subtle. It slips in quietly and sounds like this, "She grew so fast, what’s wrong with me? Everyone else seems to have it figured out. I thought God would’ve opened this door by now. I must have missed something He tried to give me." Those quiet thoughts steal joy, drain energy, and make us feel like we’re always running late to a life we’re supposed to be living.

Scripture shows us that God’s people were rarely “on time” by human standards. Moses led at eighty. Sarah carried a promise well past her prime. David waited years between anointing and appointing. Ruth found purpose in the ashes of loss. Their timelines looked delayed, and their circumstances looked discouraging, but heaven was right on time. God’s timing for you is no different.

2. God Is Never Rushed - And Neither Are You
You may feel behind, but God says you’re becoming. You may feel slow, but God says He’s strengthening you. You may feel overlooked, but God says He sees you. The world tells us to move faster, try harder, and hustle more, yet God invites us to sit with Him, listen to Him, walk with Him, and trust Him. There is deep peace in remembering that God is not grading your speed. He is shaping your heart.

3. You’re Not Behind - You’re Being Prepared
Sometimes what feels like a delay is actually development. What feels like a pause may be preparation. When it seems like nothing is happening, God may be building something deeper within you - wisdom, resilience, clarity, trust. He may be protecting you from stepping into something too early. He may be strengthening what needs to hold the weight of your next season. He may be planting seeds that haven’t broken the surface yet. God doesn’t waste time - He uses it.

4. When You’re Exhausted, God Invites You to Rest - Not Perform
As Christian women in business and leadership, it’s easy to slip into performance mode. We tell ourselves we need to do more, be stronger, not slow down, not disappoint anyone. But rest isn’t laziness. Rest is obedience. Jesus frequently withdrew, and God Himself modeled rest from the beginning. You don’t have to earn the right to slow down. You were created for rhythms of rest and renewal.

For me, that often looks simple and ordinary - a quiet morning with my Bible open, a prayer whispered while drinking tea, journaling out fears I’m tired of carrying, a slow walk outside while breathing deeply, or stepping away from social noise to hear His voice more clearly. These are simple things, but they recalibrate my heart. The Lord meets us so personally when we bring our tired, honest hearts to Him.

5. A Heart-to-Heart: God Sees What You’re Carrying
Maybe today you’re carrying a dream that hasn’t happened yet, a prayer that feels unanswered, a business that feels stuck, a body that feels exhausted, a hope that feels delayed, or a fear you haven’t said out loud. Let me remind you that you are not unnoticed, you are not overlooked, and you are not forgotten. Every quiet disappointment, every silent question, and every step you take in faith is seen by God. He holds you tenderly through every part of it. Nothing about your journey intimidates Him. Nothing about your pace frustrates Him. Nothing about your slow season surprises Him.

Journaling Prompts to Help You Release What’s Weighing You Down
If you want to reflect more deeply with the Lord, here are a few prompts to guide you.
1. Where in my life do I feel behind, and what might God be saying about that place?
2. What expectations am I carrying that God never asked me to hold?
3. In what ways has God been faithful in seasons that felt delayed?
4. What burden am I tired of carrying alone, and how can I surrender it today?
5. Lord, what truth do You want me to walk in during this season of waiting?

If guided prompts help you stay consistent, you’ll find beautiful, faith-filled resources in my Journaling Store that are designed to support your heart through every season.

Final Thoughts: You Are Not Behind. You Are Becoming.
There is no race in the Kingdom. You are not late, you are not failing, and you are not falling short. You are growing, maybe slowly and maybe quietly, but deeply and purposefully in God’s timing. He is not comparing your journey to anyone else’s. He is walking with you and inviting you to trust Him with every step. Your story is still unfolding, your pace is allowed to be steady, and your calling is safe in His hands. If you’re ready for simple, faith-rooted tools to help you slow down, grow with God, and release the pressure to hurry, visit my Journaling Store. It’s filled with resources designed to help you begin each day with intention, peace, and the steady reminder that you are right where you need to be.

Get to Know Jenna!

Hello and welcome - I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Jenna, a Christian woman in business navigating celiac life, cozy routines, and the kind of leadership that begins with meeting with the Lord. For years, I tried building my business the world’s way and found myself tired, scattered, and striving. Everything shifted when I slowed down, invited God back into my work, and learned to build my life and business from a place of peace instead of pressure.

Now I share gentle, faith-led routines for women who are craving clarity, simplicity, and a more intentional way to live and lead. Around here, you’ll find journaling tips and prompts, cozy routines, quiet-time ideas, tips for taking care of yourself as a leader, and encouragement for creating a life that feels sustainable and aligned with who God is shaping you to become. I offer courses and resources for Christian women in business, but they flow from a place of rest, overflow, and deep connection with the Lord.

And because I believe our everyday life matters just as much as our leadership, you’ll also find pieces of my world woven throughout this space - I’m a dog mom to two sweet English Springer Spaniels, Zoey and Lily, who join me on daily walks and summer boating days with my husband. I love reading cozy mysteries, strolling the gluten-free aisles to discover new finds, learning and growing through personal development, and baking gluten-free treats in the kitchen. My heart is to help you slow down, hear God’s voice again, and build a life, and if you choose, a business that reflects His peace, purpose, and presence.
