When You Feel Like You’re Sinking, God Is Still Reaching for You
There’s a song I’ve been listening to on repeat lately, Give Me Your Hand by Ellie Holcomb, and I can’t quite put into words how deeply it’s been speaking to my heart. There’s a line that says, “I cry out when I’m sinking down, thinking surely this is the end…and You give me Your hand.” And honestly, I’ve found myself sitting in that exact feeling - and you might be feeling that exact same way too.

I’m in a season right now where it feels like I have a business, but at the same time, I don’t. I stepped away from social media back in November 2025, and while I’ve continued writing and showing up on my blog and Pinterest, everything else has gone quiet. Not because I’ve given up, but because I felt the Lord gently pulling me away from the noise that can come with social media.

There came a point where comparison had taken such a hold on my heart that I felt completely defeated. I wasn’t where I thought I should be, especially financially, and it left me questioning everything. After more than ten years of pouring into my business and showing up consistently, I found myself wondering if I had somehow gotten it all wrong. I felt unsure, exhausted, and honestly just depleted.

But deep down, I also knew this wasn’t the end. There’s been this quiet, steady nudge from the Holy Spirit reminding me that God isn’t finished with my business or my calling, that there’s still more ahead. It just doesn’t look the way I thought it would. And so, I’ve found myself in this in-between season, unlearning what I thought I knew and allowing God to teach me something new. I’m learning to trust Him fully, not just in the mountaintop moments, but in the valleys too.

That’s why another line from the song has stayed with me: “I don’t know what tomorrow is holding, I don’t think I’ll understand… but You give me Your hand.” Because that’s exactly what this season has felt like. I don’t have clarity on what’s next. I don’t feel a strong pull to jump back in yet, but I just know that God is asking me to stay here a little longer, to get quiet, and to let Him lead.

And in that, I’ve found something I didn’t expect. Peace. Not because I have all the answers, but because I know I’m not walking through this alone. When I picture it, I see myself sitting in a quiet field, surrounded by wildflowers, everything still and calm. Then I look up and see Jesus standing in front of me, His hand stretched out toward me, gently inviting me to trust Him. Not to figure everything out, not to rush ahead, but to simply take His hand and let Him lead. And maybe that’s where you find yourself today, too.

1. When You Feel Like You’re Sinking
There are seasons in life and business where everything feels heavier than usual. The pressure builds quietly, comparison creeps in without you even realizing it, and you begin to question if you’ve missed something or if you’ve somehow fallen behind. You might feel unsure of what’s next, like you’ve given so much and aren’t seeing the return you hoped for. You might even feel like stepping away completely. In those moments, it can feel like you’re sinking, like you’re losing your footing, running out of clarity, and reaching the end of what you can carry on your own. But that’s exactly where this truth meets you: you are not alone in it.

2. God Meets You in the Middle of It
One of the most comforting reminders in this season has been that God doesn’t wait for you to have it all together before He reaches for you. He meets you right in the middle of the uncertainty, the questions, and the exhaustion. Nothing about your pace frustrates Him, and nothing about your slow season surprises Him. Even when you feel like you’re sinking, He is steady. Even when you don’t understand what He’s doing, He is still leading. Even when you can’t see what’s ahead, His hand is still extended toward you.

3. You Don’t Have to Have It All Figured Out
There’s a quiet pressure that comes with being a woman in business, especially as a Christian woman. There’s an expectation to show up consistently, to grow, to have clarity, and to make things work. When those things don’t happen the way we expected, it’s easy to internalize it and believe we’ve failed or fallen behind. We start thinking we need to try harder or do more. But what if this season isn’t about figuring everything out? What if it’s about learning to trust God in a deeper way? What if the lack of clarity isn’t a sign that something is wrong, but an invitation to walk closer with Him? The truth is, we won’t always understand what God is doing, and we won’t always have a clear next step. But we can still take His hand.

A Gentle Reminder for This Season
If you’re in a season where things feel uncertain, slow, or even discouraging, I want to remind you of this: you are not finished, you are not behind, and you are not without purpose. If there is breath in your lungs, God is not done with your story. Your calling still matters, your gifts still matter, and the work God has placed on your heart still matters. Sometimes, the most obedient thing you can do isn’t to push forward. It’s to pause, to step away from the noise, to sit with Him, and to let Him lead you at a pace that brings peace instead of pressure.

When You Don’t Know What’s Next
You don’t need to have tomorrow figured out. You don’t need to rush back into something before you’re ready, and you don’t need to force clarity. You can stay right here, in this moment, holding onto His hand. You can trust that He sees what you cannot, that He is working in ways you don’t yet understand, and that He will guide you when the time is right. Until then, you are allowed to rest in His presence.

Closing Thoughts: He Is Still Holding Your Hand
There will be seasons where you feel strong and confident, and there will be seasons like this one where you feel unsure, stretched, and worn down. But in both, the truth remains the same: God is with you. He is not distant, He is not frustrated, and He is not waiting for you to figure it all out. He is standing right in front of you, hand extended, inviting you to trust Him. You don’t have to understand where He’s leading, and you don’t have to have all the answers. You just have to take His hand and let Him lead you one step at a time.

Get to Know Jenna!

Hello and welcome - I’m so glad you’re here. I’m Jenna, a Christian woman in business navigating celiac life, cozy routines, and the kind of leadership that begins with meeting with the Lord. For years, I tried building my business the world’s way and found myself tired, scattered, and striving. Everything shifted when I slowed down, invited God back into my work, and learned to build my life and business from a place of peace instead of pressure.

Now I share gentle, faith-led routines for women who are craving clarity, simplicity, and a more intentional way to live and lead. Around here, you’ll find journaling tips and prompts, cozy routines, quiet-time ideas, tips for taking care of yourself as a leader, and encouragement for creating a life that feels sustainable and aligned with who God is shaping you to become. I offer courses and resources for Christian women in business, but they flow from a place of rest, overflow, and deep connection with the Lord.

And because I believe our everyday life matters just as much as our leadership, you’ll also find pieces of my world woven throughout this space - I’m a dog mom to two sweet English Springer Spaniels, Zoey and Lily, who join me on daily walks and summer boating days with my husband. I love reading cozy mysteries, strolling the gluten-free aisles to discover new finds, learning and growing through personal development, and baking gluten-free treats in the kitchen. My heart is to help you slow down, hear God’s voice again, and build a life, and if you choose, a business that reflects His peace, purpose, and presence.
