The Power of Pressing Pause in Business
We’re often told that success comes from pushing harder, doing more, and staying busy. But what if the real breakthrough happens when we slow down? What if stepping back is actually the key to moving forward with more purpose, clarity, and impact?

In a world that glorifies hustle, taking a pause can feel counterintuitive. But here’s the truth: rest isn’t a sign of weakness - it’s a strategy.

Sometimes, the most powerful move in business isn’t pushing harder - it’s pressing pause.
If you’ve ever felt the need to slow down, step back, or take a deep breath in your business, I want to remind you that it’s okay. In fact, sometimes it’s necessary.

Even Jesus, in the midst of His ministry, took time away from the crowds. He withdrew to quiet places to pray, refresh, and realign. And when He returned, He moved with even greater purpose. If Jesus Himself needed moments of stillness, why do we so often resist them in our own lives and businesses?

Why Resting Can Be Your Greatest Business Strategy
Pausing in business isn’t about quitting. It’s about giving yourself the opportunity to reset so that when you return, you can do so with greater clarity, energy, and purpose.

When I’ve allowed myself to step back, I’ve experienced:
  • Hearing God more clearly in my business – When the noise of hustle quiets, His voice becomes louder.
  • Realigning my vision with His plans – Instead of running in circles, I refocus on the bigger picture.
  • Refilling my cup so I can pour into others – Burnout serves no one. A well-rested leader can lead with greater impact.
  • Returning stronger, more creative, and more on fire than ever – Fresh ideas and renewed purpose always follow intentional rest.

One of the best ways I’ve learned to pause with intention is through journaling. When I feel overwhelmed, lost, or just in need of a reset, I turn to my journal to process my thoughts, reconnect with God, and gain clarity on my next steps. God is Still Working in the Waiting
One of the hardest things about taking a step back is the fear that everything will fall apart if we slow down. But here’s the truth: God is still moving, even in the waiting.

When we trust Him enough to pause, we’re actually stepping into a place of faith. We’re acknowledging that success isn’t solely dependent on our efforts but on His guidance, His timing, and His provision. And when we return? We come back equipped with fresh energy, fresh ideas, and fresh anointing to step forward with renewed confidence.

Give Yourself Permission to Pause
If you’re feeling the nudge to take a break - whether it’s for a day, a week, or a season - listen to that prompting. Your business will not fall apart. If anything, it will be stronger for it.

God isn’t calling you to burn out in pursuit of success. He’s calling you to partner with Him, to trust Him, and to build something that is sustainable, impactful, and Kingdom-driven. So take the pause. Lean into rest. Trust that your greatest growth may come from your stillest moments.
