Faith-Based Business Gratitude Journal: What I’m Thankful for This Year
Gratitude is something we hear about often, especially as the holidays approach. But this year, the Lord has been teaching me something deeper: that gratitude isn’t just something we practice for ourselves, it’s something we practice with Him.

It’s easy to sit down and jot down a list of what you’re thankful for - your family, your business, your health. And those are beautiful gifts. Recently, a friend shared a simple shift with me that completely changed the way I journal.

Instead of asking yourself, “What am I thankful for today?” ask God: “Lord, what do YOU want me to be grateful for today?” That shift invites His perspective into our reflection. It slows us down. It opens our eyes. And often, it reveals blessings we’ve been overlooking in the rush of routine.

This Year, I’m Grateful For:
As I look back on the year this far, I see God’s faithfulness woven through the unexpected and the ordinary. Here are a few things that rise to the top:
  • The slow growth of my business. It didn’t explode overnight, but it deepened. The Lord built a stronger foundation in me as a leader.
  • The women I’ve been called to serve. Whether through a blog post, a course, or a conversation, being part of their journey is something I don’t take lightly.
  • Daily rhythms with Him. Journaling, prayer walks, morning quiet time, He’s met me in the stillness more than ever this year.
  • A clearer mission. As I continue to blend faith, strategy, wellness, and content, He keeps refining the vision.
None of this happened the way I expected. But that’s often how gratitude works: God reveals His hand in hindsight.

Why Faith-Based Gratitude Journaling Is Different
In the world’s view, gratitude is a self-help tool. But as Christian women, we know it’s more than that. Gratitude is an act of worship. It realigns our hearts and helps us lead from a place of peace rather than pressure. When you bring God into your journaling, you’re not just making a list; you’re having a conversation. You’re letting Him show you where He’s moving, even in the mundane.
If you’ve ever sat down to journal and didn’t know where to start, that simple question can shift everything: “Lord, what do You want me to be grateful for today?”

He might bring up something quiet, a moment you overlooked, a person you were frustrated with, or a closed door that was really protection. Gratitude softens your perspective and deepens your faith.

Faith-Based Journal Prompts for Gratitude
Use these prompts to spend time with the Lord as you reflect on your current season of life and/or business:
  • God, what have You been doing in my life that I haven’t yet noticed?
  • What felt like a disappointment this year, but might actually be Your redirection?
  • Where did I experience Your faithfulness in my business?
  • Who are the people You’ve placed in my life that I may have taken for granted?
  • What rhythms or habits helped me stay rooted in You?
  • Lord, what do You want me to carry forward from this season, and what can I release?

You can write your answers in a gratitude journal or simply pray them out loud during your quiet time.

My Favorite Journals for Faith-Based Gratitude
If you're looking to start a gratitude practice (or refresh yours for the new season), here are a few of my favorite journals:
  • DaySpring Gratitude Journal: Beautifully designed, with a daily devotional and space for Scripture reflection or daily thanks.
  • Prompted Prayer Journal: Perfect for those who like structure and want help staying consistent.
  • Verse Map Journal: An amazing journal to go beyond just reading Bible verses, but to really experience it!
These are all products I personally use or recommend because they make it easier to create a sacred space to connect with God, even in the middle of a full schedule.

Final Thoughts: Gratitude as Worship
Gratitude isn’t just a seasonal thing. It’s not just a way to feel better about our lives or businesses. It’s a spiritual posture. When you begin asking God, “What do You want me to be grateful for?” you allow Him to show you the beauty in places you may have missed. It turns ordinary journaling into sacred reflection. And it helps you see your business (and your life) through the lens of eternity.

So whether you’re just starting your gratitude journaling practice or simply looking for a way to go deeper, pause with Him today, ask Him, and let Him guide your reflection. He’s been more present than you think.
