As Christian women, the way we begin our mornings sets the tone for everything we carry throughout the day - the responsibilities, the relationships, the decisions, and the quiet emotional weight we often hold without words. I’ve learned that when I start my day grounded in God’s presence instead of rushing or from a place of pressure, my heart feels steadier and my thoughts settle more easily. That gentle beginning changes how I move through the rest of the day.
Not long ago, though, my mornings felt rushed. I’d roll out of bed, check my phone, and jump straight into my inbox or my to-do list. It left me feeling scattered before the day even began. Everything shifted when I started journaling with the Lord first thing - not because my circumstances changed instantly, but because my posture did.

Why Journaling Creates Peace in Your Morning
Morning journaling isn’t about filling pages. It’s about creating space - space to breathe, space to listen, space to release yesterday so you can show up present today.
Morning journaling isn’t about filling pages. It’s about creating space - space to breathe, space to listen, space to release yesterday so you can show up present today.
For me, it often begins with my devotional and a chapter in the Bible. Right now, I’m going through the book of Matthew and a devotional called Emmanuel: An Invitation to Prepare Him Room by Ruth Chou Simons. There’s something about starting with Scripture that helps realign my heart before the world has a chance to pull it in another direction.
I usually sit with a cozy drink - my latest favorites are:
• Peach Energy Tea for a gentle lift
• Mint Green Tea when I want something calm and cozy

Then I open my journal and begin writing whatever the Lord stirs. And that simple practice has brought a great deal of peace into my mornings.
