Self-Care has become something very important to me within that past 5 years or so. I once heard that self-care is selfish – wow, that couldn’t be further from the truth. When you take care of yourself, you are then able to pour into others in such a positive way. Here are 3 simple ways that you can easily incorporating Self-Care into your daily routine.
1. Start with a Morning Routine: If you aren’t a morning person, it might just be time to start. When you win the morning, you win the day! A morning routine can be as simple as drinking a hot cup of coffee in your favorite chair and sitting silently for 5 minutes. Your morning routine can be anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes. Keep it simple if a morning routine is a new concept for you. In the past, I use to roll out of bed, quick get myself ready, maybe grab breakfast and rush out the door. That’s no way to begin a day. It left me feeling frazzled all day long. Now, I ease into my days by having a morning routine. You can learn more about my Morning Routine over at one of my past blog posts. I first learned about a morning routine from this book.
2. Drink plenty of water: This sounds like a no-brainer, but by drinking plenty of water your keeping your mind alert and your energy stays more consistent throughout the day. It also helps curb your appetite away from mindlessly snacking. I like to add a drop of Lemon Vitality to my water. It is very refreshing and it helps me drink more water because it tastes so good. It also helps the body naturally detox any unwanted toxins floating around in my body. So, that’s a double win for me!
3. Move Your Body: Find an activity you love and just do it. Love yoga, running, snowshoeing, kickboxing, walking, or swimming? Choose the one you love and aim for 20-30 minutes everyday. Moving your body everyday is so good for your joints, muscles, heart and mind. I know for me, when I get my workout in I feel so good and much more energized. I also sleep way better at night too!
