Mornings can be a hectic time for many of us, but they don't need to be. With a little planning and some simple changes, you can transform your morning routine from chaos to calm. Mornings are my absolute favorite, but it didn't use to be that way. During my season of grief after infertility testing, I turned to gratitude journaling and learning how to structure an intentional morning routine.
Having that morning routine set in place has been so healing for my emotional wellness. It's allowed me to begin the day feeling more grounded, focused, and calm. Not every morning is perfect; there's definitely been mornings that I have missed my quiet time...but I try not to miss 2-3 mornings in a row. I can definitely feel a dip in my mood and mental wellness when that happens.
To give you a little insight, here are a few tips that can help you get started with creating a stress-free morning routine.

Wake up earlier: It may be hard to imagine waking up earlier, but doing so can give you a few extra minutes to yourself. Use this time to meditate, read, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee.

Plan ahead: Before you go to bed, take a few minutes to plan out your morning. Decide what you will wear, what you will have for breakfast, and what you need to take with you. This will save you time and stress in the morning.
Create a routine: Establishing a morning routine can help you feel more organized and calm. Decide on a set of tasks you will do every morning, such as making your bed, stretching, or journaling. Download the FREE Creating Your Morning Routine to get started with filling your own cup first.
Simplify your beauty routine: If your beauty routine takes up too much time, simplify it. Consider using multi-purpose products or skipping certain steps altogether. Simple and clean is the new classic look. My favorite recently has been this brand.

Minimize distractions: Try to minimize distractions in the morning. This means turning off your phone or putting it on silent, avoiding checking your email or social media, and focusing on the task at hand.
Incorporate movement: Even a little movement can go a long way in reducing stress and increasing energy levels. Consider doing some light stretching or yoga in the morning. I love beginning my day with Yoga with Adrienne or Yoga with Martina.
Practice gratitude: Taking a few minutes to practice gratitude in the morning can help set a positive tone for the day. Write down three things you are grateful for or simply reflect on what you appreciate in your life. If you need a gratitude journal, check out this one HERE.
By implementing these simple tips, you can transform your morning routine from a stressful experience to a calm and enjoyable one. Remember, creating a stress-free morning routine is all about finding what works for you and sticking to it. Think about your lifestyle and your schedule and then create your morning routine around that. It might take a few tries, but soon you will have your own intentional morning routine that you will look forward to each day.
