Have you ever felt like you’re working hard but not seeing the growth you desire in your business? Maybe you’ve questioned, Am I even meant to do this? Let me encourage you - if God has placed this business on your heart, it’s because He has a purpose for it. But here’s the key: It’s not about working harder. It’s about working in alignment with Him.
Before we dive into the practical steps, let’s take a moment to acknowledge something important - running a business in faith doesn’t mean it will always be easy. There will be moments of doubt, frustration, and uncertainty. But here’s the truth: God didn’t call you to this business just to leave you struggling. When you build with Him as the foundation, you’re not striving alone - you’re co-creating with the One who sees the bigger picture. That shift in perspective changes everything.

1. Surrender the Hustle Mentality
We live in a world that glorifies hustle, but God calls us to fruitfulness, not burnout. I remember a time when I felt stuck—hitting brick wall after brick wall in my business. No sales, no traction. I finally just said: “Okay, God—I give up. You know how badly I want this to work, but I know I’ve been trying to do this in my own strength. I surrender it to You.”
God’s response? Just keep going. Just a little longer. I have something coming your way. And He did! Through Kingdom Alliance, I found the faith-based business community I had been praying for since I started my entrepreneurial journey in 2014.
2. Steward Your Time & Gifts Well

2. Steward Your Time & Gifts Well
Managing your time well is an act of stewardship. Your talents, skills, and business were entrusted to you by God, and how you manage them matters. Instead of feeling overwhelmed, create structured routines that allow you to work smarter, not harder. I personally follow a Facebook marketing routine, a blogging schedule, and a Pinterest strategy that helps me stay consistent without burning out.
The key is to prioritize what moves the needle forward while allowing space for God to guide your steps. Every morning, I pray: “Lord, show me where to focus today. Open doors for divine connections and opportunities.”
By inviting God into your workday, you shift from stressful striving to purposeful progress. I have routines for everything - my Facebook marketing, blogging, and Pinterest strategies, home organization, daily workouts - because consistency matters to me. But what matters most is inviting God into my life and business daily. Every morning, I ask Him: “What should I focus on today, Lord? Who should I reach out to? Lead my steps.”
3. Take Breaks & Trust God’s Timing
Slowing down may feel counterintuitive when you're building a business, but it’s essential. God’s timing is perfect, and sometimes the breakthrough comes when you least expect it.
Taking intentional breaks allows space for clarity, creativity, and divine inspiration to flow. I’ve learned that when I pause, rest, and seek God’s direction, He often brings fresh ideas, connections, and unexpected blessings.
Instead of pushing yourself to exhaustion, embrace seasons of waiting and preparation. Trust that when the time is right, God will open doors no man can shut. Ask yourself: “Am I forcing something that God wants me to surrender?”
When you give yourself permission to step back, you’ll find that progress often happens faster in His timing than in your own efforts. One mindset shift that changed everything for me? Slow down to go faster. Sometimes, the best thing you can do is pause. Step away. Let your mind breathe. Because in the stillness, God will download the next steps for you.

4. Speak Life Over Your Business
Your words have power. What you say about your business - whether in prayer, conversation, or self-talk - can shape your reality. Instead of saying, “I’m struggling” or “Nothing is working”, shift your language to align with God’s truth and promises. Declare:
- “God is my provider, and He will equip me with everything I need.”
- “I am building a business that blesses others and glorifies Him.”
- “Opportunities, clients, and success flow to me in alignment with God’s will.”
I love using faith-based affirmations from Radiant Leadership Academy to reinforce my mindset. Speaking life over your business invites God’s favor, provision, and supernatural breakthroughs. What words are you declaring over your work today? One of my favorite affirmations from Radiant Leadership Academy is: I am fully anchored in Jesus. I trust Him in all areas of my life. I was created to do hard things. I was created for great things.
