How Are You Speaking to Yourself?
Have you ever spoken words or phrases over yourself like, "I am not good enough" or "I'll never be able to do that" or "I am not pretty enough?" I am pretty sure we have all spoken negatively in some way over ourselves. Encouragement comes really easy for me to pour out onto others, but when it comes to speaking encouragement over myself it just doesn't happen.

Guess what happens when we speak poorly over ourselves? We begin to believe it and live it out. It happens without us even realizing it. This is why speaking words of positivity is so important for you and your emotional and mental health. Instead of saying "I am not good enough;" say something like, "I am growing and learning." Do this over and over and you will begin retraining your brain!

I am a work in progress and learning to speak kindly to myself. In the mornings I spend about 3-5 minutes writing in my journal. I'll write out an affirmation for the day so I have my positive phrase to speak over myself when the negativity tries to slip in. Anytime a negative thought about myself creeps in I'll quick counteract it with my affirmation. An affirmation is a positive phrase that will help you stay focused and grounded in your truth. I created a few of my favorites that you can find here if you could use some ideas.

If speaking unkindly to yourself happens too often or you could use some extra guidance on speaking more words of positivity check out my Bloom from the Inside program.
